Re: Post Brent LLR |
If this was on the GD test, I'd fail, hahaha.
I actually dig this song, unlike many Deadheads. My favorite PRE-Brent I think would have to be the one on Dick's Picks 18; for those who don't like the song, I think they could at least appreciate the killer solo on this version!
Yah, didn't mean to get so off topic, hopefully someone will help ya out here...

haha I hear ya. I understand that many peeps dont dig this song, but I dont care because it ranks pretty high on my list.
That 1984-03-31 show I told you about has my all time favorite LLR.

Re: Post Brent LLR |
I listened to part of that show a while back, but not the LLR..I'll have to go back and hear it for sure.
I really dug the Scarlet>Fire, Jerry wails hard in Fire especially. My only quibble is they seemed to get a bit lost in the transition, but maybe I'm just used to the super-tight sounding '77 transitions...

Re: Post Brent LLR |
yea I see what you're talking about. I agree that something could be desired from it kinda hitting the breaks. However I still find that area to be interestingly jammed out and know it by heart, so it gets me everytime. Regardless of how it likely cant compare to oh, say, 1978-02-05; the legend.

Ever heard the egypt release LLR? Its quite good as well.
Wait, were you referring to the LLR or scar > fire for this 78 show?

Re: Post Brent LLR |
ha, I meant S>F actually. The Scarlet>Fire>Good Lovin' is about all I listen to from that show, but it's egg-salad!
EDIT - wait...I forgot about the Music Never Stopped, also a winner!

Re: Post Brent LLR |
Cool. I could use a good music never stopped. I only know of a few. And nothing seems to ever near 1978-02-03. now that is one of those near indisputable best ever versions.

Re: Post Brent LLR |
now i'm confused. i thought i was listening to a llr from this show on itunes earlier, now i see there is no llr from the above show so i must have been listening to another show.
the scarlet>fire from horton field house is well worth a listen though

Re: Post Brent LLR |
o man it is killer. Bobby says fuck, lmao. Its really quite with tons of dead air, sad face. But the only version that comes close IMO is 1985-11-05. Which is a bit more rocking, and maybe more epic, but the 84 version has a much more somber sad emotion to it, which is what the song is all about.
and on the scar > fire. Im listening to it now, this scar is textbook for sure. I'll see if I catch what you mean about the transition...
